I have entered the NaNoWriMo competition this year.And all I can think to myself is, dear god, what have I done?! and why is my desk covered in clothes, I want to sit at it!

For those of you poor souls who have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about, I shall now fill you in as to what exactly NaNoWriMo is.

No, it is not an anime/manga series, character or ninja move. (I actually thought it was an anime series for the longest time- as in, up until two days ago. I suck hairy sweaty balls. Not literally. Oh, whatever.) NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and is held annually in November.

The aim of this is very simple. Deceptively simple. It is to have completed writing a novel of 50,000 words in length by the end of 30 days, starting November 1st. I figure I need to aim for 2000 words a day, everyday, for the next month to complete this thing, and I am completely determined to do so. Unfortunately, I was also completely determined to get a good job, loose weight, study more and actually make art this year and I did none of these things. In fact, so far I only have 501 words clocked on the official site and I needed 1667 to make it reach what they expect you to have on minimum for the first day. This is because of my poor planning skills, spontaneity and tendency to leave things till the last minute.

Anyway, I am actually having a surprising amount of fun. It is, after all, only a first draft and there is no need to edit.

Actually, it is starting not to be so fun as I am pleading desperately in my head for someone to please help me stop wanting to claw my eyes out with the need to edit. I am just trying desperately (there's that word again) to go with the flow to be honest. I believe that my official synopsis on the website goes a little something like this:

"You want the honest to God truth?- I don't know what this is about. So far, Sebastian has managed to wheedle his way into becoming my main character (even though I swore that this time I would write a girl character, dammit!). His dog, Maybe, talks to him and then I think it's just gonna take off like George Harrison on acid. Who knows..."

I will let you in on a little secret, though. There's gonna be parallel universes, time travel and sex (this last one is probably a lie. Probably.) (Okay, it's is very likely that it's not a lie.) Hopefully it'll be awesome. Hopefully it'll get finished. And hopefully, if I win (as in, complete my novel) it can get published.

So here goes, my wonderful little deviants. My second day of writing. Hopefully I write so much I get carpel tunnel so then I have an impressive survivor writer story to tell people. They are gonna be so impressed.
